General Information

Music

The Department of Music and Dance offers several degrees. You can earn a bachelor of arts (B.A.) with a concentration in voice, piano, organ, or any orchestral instrument; in musicology; music theory, or an outside concentration. You can earn a bachelor of music (B.M.) in music theory, composition, musicology, or music performance in piano, voice, organ and church music, and any orchestral instrument – woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings. The Department of Music and Dance, in cooperation with the Department of Theatre and Film, also offers a bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A) in theatre and voice. You can also earn a bachelor of music education (B.M.E.) in music education or music therapy.

Dance

The Department of Music and Dance offers a bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) and a bachelor of arts (B.A.) in dance. Within these degrees, you will have the opportunity to fashion a dance program according to your interests and plans. You can combine dance classes in ballet, modern, and jazz with courses in dance history, movement analysis, dance improvisation, choreography, and dance for children.
