Music and Dance Frequently Asked Questions

Main | Art and Design | KU

When can I do my audition?

For undergraduate information, visit the Undergraduate Study in Music and Dance page. For graduate studies, visit the Graduate Study in Music page.

How is my private lesson instructor determined?

In studios where there is more than one instructor, the decision of who will teach private lessons is made by the faculty after discussing options with the student.

Do I have to audition in person or can I send in a tape?

All auditions must be in person. If you are an out of state student or if you live far away from Lawrence be sure to schedule an audition time well in advance so that appropriate travel plans can be made. Under certain circumstances a tape recording may be submitted in lieu of the live audition.

What are the audition requirements?

For undergraduate information, visit the Undergraduate Study in Music and Dance page. For graduate studies, visit the Graduate Study in Music page.

When will I hear if I got in?

Music and Dance will notify all applicants of admission for fall by March and for Spring by April.
