Investing in the Next Generation of Film and Media Studies

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Want to donate to KU and know exactly how your donation will benefit the students? Now is your chance.

Hopefully you know that the Department of Film & Media Studies is currently transforming Summerfield Hall into its new home. KU has committed $3.5 million to this project – and unprecedented investment in the future of local Kansas filmmakers. This would bring Film & Media Studies back to the main KU campus for the first time in more than 20 years.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 in 90 days. Give a little or a lot. Either way you will help give students for a state-of-the-art soundstage, recording studio, and spaces for teaching and producing editing, lighting, and animation.

Film and Media is the leading art form of the 21st century and success today depends on access to new technology and cutting edge digital implements. Your tax deductible contribution of any amount will make a real difference in bringing the next generation of film and media studies to KU.

One hundred percent of your charitable donation directly benefits our students by providing them with the opportunity to learn and train using industry standard equipment and preparing them for a career in the industry. So please help FMS in its commitment to our most important resource—our students—as we prepare tomorrow’s artists, industry leaders and scholars whose stories will inspire change for a better world.
