Rudolf Radocy Professor of Music Education, Emeritus

Rudolf Radocy earned a BS from Ohio State University, a MM from the University of Michigan, and his EdD from Pennsylvania State University. He taught in Michigan public schools for five years and served as a graduate and a research assistant at Penn State.

Since coming to the University of Kansas in 1971, Radocy has taught acoustics, psychology of music, research methods, learning theories, measurements, and woodwinds, and guided numerous theses and dissertations. Radocy is co-author of two English and two Japanese editions of "Psychological Foundations of Musical Behavior" and co-author of "Measurement and Evaluation of Musical Experiences." He currently is editor of the "Journal of Research in Music Education." He has delivered papers at meetings of the MENC, and the International Society for Music Education. He also works as an evaluation consultant; clients have included the Kansas Arts Commission, the Kansas State Department of Education, Accessible Arts, Inc., and the Yamaha Corporation.
