Julius Zilinskas Lecturer of Percussion

Julius Zilinskas, Lecturer of Percussion, joined the faculty at The University of Kansas in the fall of 2007. Zilinskas earned the Doctor of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance degree as well as Master of Music in Percussion Performance degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance from the Lithuanian Academy of Music in Vilnius, Lithuania. Julius has studied with Kevin Bobo, John W. Parks IV, Linda Maxey, Zenonas Bagavicius of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, and Pranas Dovidaitis of the Klaipeda Music Theater. Julius is an artist/clinician for Innovative Percussion.

Zilinskas has performed with musical organizations such as the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra, Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra, International Bach Academy Youth Orchestra on 1998 tour of Europe and Russia, Lithuanian Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra on 2002 and 2003 tours of Germany, and Lawrence City Band, Fountain City Band, Lawrence Chamber Orchestra, and Kansas City Symphony Orchestra.
