The School of Fine Arts at the University of Kansas offers graduate music programs through the Department of Music and Dance. A distinguished faculty with more than 60 members offers the opportunity to study with professionals in all major areas.
The department offers the M.M. degree in Accompanying, Carillon, Church Music (Choral Conducting or Organ emphasis), Composition, Conducting (Choral, Band, Orchestral), Music Theory, Musicology, Opera and most areas of performance.

D.M.A. degrees are offered in Church Music (Choral Conducting or Organ emphasis), Composition, Conducting (Choral, Band, Orchestral), Music Theory, Musicology, and most areas of performance.
The department offers the Ph.D. with majors in Musicology, Music Theory, and Music Education with an emphasis in Music Education or Music Therapy.
