George Boberg

George Boberg, Emeritus Professor of Percussion and member of the KU music faculty from 1968-2000, holds a bachelor of music education degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, a master of science in music education degree from the University of Illinois, and a master of music in percussion degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Boberg formerly taught at the University of Illinois, Bemidji State College, the Manhattan School of Music, and Central High School in Valley Stream, N.Y. For 10 years he was a free-lance percussionist in the New York area and performed with the Manhattan Percussion Ensemble, Paul Price Percussion Quartet, Group for Contemporary Music, and the Seventh Army Band in Stuttgart, Germany. Boberg is the author of "Multiple-Option Cadences" and "Jazz-Rick Cadences," both published by Alfred Music. Boberg is a former acting director of bands at KU, and also a former conductor of the Lawrence Chamber Players.
